This article shows how to create a presence cell using Location Engine Configuration. Presence cells are used if you need an alternative grouping of presence sensors. That is, a grouping that is not the same as a cell already present in your database. Presence cells are also used if you want to define an extent for an injection policy that is different from any existing cell extent.

Before you start, remember to:
Make sure you have a valid dataset with the "UPresence" module installed.
Start the Location Engine Configuration tool and check that the "Presence" tab is shown.
Set some sensors to forward uplinks and/or chirps.
Navigate to the 'Presence' tab in Location Engine Configuration and select Cells > New Presence Cell from the menu. The new presence cell is shown in the list:

You can add sensors to the presence cell by dragging them with the left mouse button:

Your presence cell will be shown in the Site Manager "Cells" tab, and you can modify its
extent in the same way as described in:
How to create a cell hierarchy using Site Manager.
