This article shows how to create a cell hierarchy using Site Manager.
None. You can use this article on its own.
Before you start, remember to:
Install and deploy the default services with a new dataset
This guide shows you how to define a basic cell hierarchy of one 'Geometry Cell' and one 'Location Cell'.
Find the 'Cells' tab, which looks like this if you have not yet created an area. Note that you don't need to create an area in order to create a cell hierarchy. If you have an area, you can select it from the drop-down list and this will cause the 'Extent Editor' to give you a suggested cell extent so you don't have to draw a cell extent by hand. In this example, we will create the cell hierarchy without any area.

The error list at the bottom is showing that we haven't yet given the 'Site' an extent, but we will fix this later.
Right-click on the 'Site' and add a new geometry cell as shown:

'Geometry Cell 00001' is created, which we will accept as the name of the cell.
Right-click on 'Geometry Cell 00001' and add a new location cell as shown:

'Location Cell 00001' is created, which we will accept as the name of the cell.
The error list at the bottom of the screen now has 3 errors, one for each of our cells, which don't yet have any extent:

Add an extent by right-clicking on the cell and selecting 'Extent'. First, do this for 'Location Cell 00001':

The 'Extent Editor' opens. Add 4 corners of a square as shown. Click to add the points in a clockwise direction:

Save this extent to return to the 'Cells' tab of Site Manager. Note the default upper and lower limits of this cell are 3m above and below the cell floor.

Add extents for "Geometry Cell 00001" and "Site", drawing a rough shape inside the extent of 'Location Cell 00001' as follows:

Now, 'Geometry Cell 00001' is the parent of 'Location Cell 00001'. Child cells must fit entirely inside parent cells, so the error list tells you there is still a problem:

You can fix this automatically with the 'Extend Parent' button at the bottom-right of the screen. This will extend the parent cell so the child cell just fits inside.
Repeat the steps for adding the extent of 'Geometry Cell 00001' for the 'Site' extent, and you will end up with no errors, and all 3 of your cells in the hierarchy the same size:

'Automatically deploy services for cells' is checked by default, so the services that run at each cell level will now be running on your new cells, as shown by Service Manager:
